ABOUT ABOUT

Based on having previously received funding from the Douty Foundation your organization has been selected to attend a private session and exclusive funding opportunity presented by MilkCrate & The Douty Foundation.

On October 15th, 2019 at Kismet Cowork's Spring Garden location, MilkCrate will share case studies of existing MilkCrate nonprofit apps, how they used their app to better engage their program participants, and track outputs and outcomes. The session leaders will then go through a program evaluation process for each organization to assess whether they would be ideal use cases for the 3 fully funded apps Douty Foundation will fund for 2019 as well as create a wait list for 2020.

Attendance at this event will allow your organization to apply for 1 of the 3 fully funded MilkCrate apps paid for by the Douty Foundation this year. More spots will be made available based on demand for next year.

For those of you not familiar with MilkCrate's work in the local (and national) nonprofit world, MilkCrate empowers nonprofits to take their traditionally offline programs online through an affordable mobile app and modern backend tool that more deeply engages participants, eliminates paper-intensive administrative overhead, and allows for real time impact reports for donors and program stakeholders. You can learn more at our website www.milkcrate.tech.

Some of the nonprofits with MilkCrate apps include:

  • The Cultural Alliance engages and tracks 5K teens checking in to museums for the STAMP program
  • United Way of Piedmont's Reading Buddy program launches this fall
  • The Committee of 70's WeVote App boosted record breaking participation in elections
  • The Free Library's Read by 4th engages and tracks volunteers on a MilkCrate app
  • Youth Volunteer Corp tracks volunteer efforts by local teens.
  • El Concilio's parent engagement for their after school program.
  • Philly Startup Leaders is launching an app for their entrepreneur training program
  • QSPACES is a directory app for LGBTQ friendly doctors
  • University of Pennsylvania engages students in sustainability on campus

In order to make their mobile technology even more affordable than it already is, MilkCrate is increasingly partnering with foundations like the Douty Foundation and others to fully fund the initial investment for an app for a nonprofit's program management and tracking. As an attendee of this event you will be eligible to apply for a fully funded app - covering the initial launch costs as well as a portion of the monthly subscription fees.

From the Douty Foundation's Executive Director, Jennifer Leith:

We are excited to partner with MilkCrate and offer this session to our grantees. We recognize that nonprofits are always on the look-out for capacity building support. This session is an opportunity to learn about the integration of app technology to build internal and external capacity. As a part of this event, Douty is committed to funding three nonprofits to build a MilkCrate app in 2019-2020 with the hope to explore future additional nonprofit app sponsorship if there is interest and demand.

From MilkCrate CEO, Morgan Berman:

MilkCrate is thrilled to partner with the Douty Foundation for this exclusive grantee event and looks forward to meeting new local nonprofits, answering questions about mobile technology, impact tracking, and program participant engagement. These are what we do best, and are excited to be able to offer these services at low or no cost to this select group. Feel free to reach out to me ahead of the workshop at [email protected] and we look forward to seeing you there.

If you have questions about this event feel free to contact [email protected] or [email protected] - thank you and we hope to see you on the 15th!
